English World

English Speaking World's Top Urban Areas in Need of the Gospel
Red: Cities w/o grace churches / Yellow: grace churches present / Green: Cities w/o grace churches where English is understood by many.

Studying the links at the end we find that the US, or rather, the English Speaking World, still has a huge need of grace evangelists. Yes, there are Christ-naming denominations working in these cities, but the absolute majority mixes works with the gospel, rendering it a false gospel (Gl.1). We gladly make chorus to Paul's "(...) I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth" (Rm.1:16), but can we say the same thing of a perverted message? I can't. The gospel of the grace of God is powerful to save believers, but the perversions out there are the power of the devil to deceive and drag souls to the lake of fire after him. And that, in a nutshell, is why I believe the grace movement is unique and sorely needed in this lost world!

Below I list the most populated cities of the English speaking world and the number of grace churches in them in the first parentheses. The second parenthesis lists how many souls each church would have to reach if they were to be divided up among the existing churches. This exercise is just to show the need and how far we are from preaching fully, "and that all the Gentiles might hear" (2Tm.4:17 - the goal)!

1 - New York             22,000,000   (3) (7.3mi per church)

2 - Los Angeles     17,600,000   (3) (5.8mi per church)

3 - London (UK)         14,400,000   (0)

4 - Chicago               9,800,000    (6) (1.63mi per church)

5 - Washington       8,350,000    (1) (8.3mi per church)

6 - San Francisco          7,600,000    (0)

7 - Boston       7,350,000    (0)

8 - Philadelphia       7,300,000    (0)

9 - Toronto (CAN)        7,100,000   (0)

10 - Dallas       6,550,000   (1) (6.5mi per church)

11 - Houston               6,200,000   (1) (6.1mi per church)

12 - Miami               6,100,000   (0)

13 - Detroit                   5,700,000   (1) (5.7mi per church)

14 - Atlanta                  5,500,000   (0)

Question: if we were to aim at one church planted per million people, just in the USA, and just from the list above, we'd need another 90+ churches! Where do we start?

We need home missionaries! Yes, we need church planters sent right here to the USA!
